On my IOS device, I am unable to log in via my social media account (Google, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn). What should I do?



Our website requires you to view a pop-up screen when logging in via social media.

Some browsers block pop-up displays by default.

Please follow the instructions below to enable pop-ups for The Japan Times.


Safari on IOS (iPhone/iPad) devices

  1. Open the device "Settings" and locate the settings for Safari.
  2. In the General category, swipe the “Block Pop-ups” toggle to the left to disable.



Safari on Mac OS
On the far right of your Safari menu bar, select "Preferences" in the drop-down menu under “Safari.”

  1. In Preferences, select the "Websites" tab (represented by a globe icon).
  2. On the left-hand side menu, select "Pop-up Windows."
  3. In the right bottom corner, you should see a menu. If you select "Allow," it will automatically save this setting. You can also choose the option of "Block and Notify,” then either allow or block a pop-up when it appears.
